I called a guy on Preloved website who had advertised "Everplay drums" for sale and on looking at the picture noticed they were Aqua shimmer Premier drums. I have a kit already needing a couple of toms so called the guy up and he asked for a price which i agreed to pay. Here's the silly part i needed them quickly as i am going away on hols soon so i didn't want to wait for cheques to clear etc so sent cash . "IDIOT" i here you say! Well yes i agree and won't make the same mistake again. Now i have called the guy who told me he'd recieved the money ok and would get back to me once me had boxed them up to give me weight and sizes of parcel for courier to collect. Nothing, ziltch, fek all since. Called him 20 times over last few days, sent texts emails etc etc but it seems sometimes he turns his phone off to avoid my calls. He is in London so not somewhere i could just drop by unfortunately. Well one lesson learned by me is never trust anyone apart from my Mom Ps don't anyone try buying this kit off preloved the guy is a scammer! His user name on there is MEME please steer clear. |

That's awful. Is there no one in the London area that could help? Send the Dolbear massive round his house to collect them
If not, we'll get Super Ted to drop by

| There are a number of us in and around the London area ... perhaps an e-mail to the man to point this out and to suggest to him that he should pull his finger out unless he wants the hassle of an unannounced visit from a few drummers supporting a fellow Forum member ?! |

| I would politely ring him and tell him that you are on you way to see him right away, to collect the drums or to collect your money. I really hope you manage to get one or the other. Some people are just pond life. I hate hearing stories of these scum bags getting away with these sort of scams. |

Well no call from him so i just got off the phone with my local police who have taken all details ie His Address phone number etc etc ( sure i heard the others behind her laughing at the idiot who sent cash). They gonna call me back later or tomorrow. Mark i did ring him several times but he will not answer his phone. I did consider he may be out or unavailable until a couple times i rang it was engaged and then i just got ring tone and after 2 rings engaged again so he may well of been rejecting my call. Maybe? Prog if it is still for sale dont send cash lol !! |

Ok still have the old number alive till september. Please don't be too harsh on me i was faithful for 19 years but then she upped and left me with 2 kids and a bloody house full of drums to boot. So i went a little Bongo crazy, played a few rim shots too many and am now having to "beat" a hasty retreat! You still got that helmet? Might need it. Maybe shouldda played solo for a while lol.

My advice is that if you HAVE to send cash then ask them for their bank account number so you can transfer it in - if you haven't internet banking then you can pay it over any bank counter. If they've nothing to hide then they won't mind givng you their account number (you can't do anything with an account number, just don't ask their mothers maiden name!!). If they do a runner at least you have proof that its been paid and to who ;-)
I hope it gets sorted for you (and maybe his mate should check his locker as there is obviously a gremlin in there playing with the phone!!)

I did take a bit of a risk sending cash but have always trusted people and i did have his number and address. However i could have come a cropper so will probably not risk it next time. The chap called me a couple of times and collection is arranged for today so fingers crossed all will be well. I did email him a link to this forum/topic so who knows you guys could have made the difference yet again. I know the 6ft 3" 18 stone and tattoed from neck down would have made me throw it in the boot and deliver it within the hour!! I will let you all know as soon as it arrives safely and once again thanks to all. |

| Well here's an update. This guy called me and was all apologetic so we arranged courier for Thursday he even text me through the parcel size details etc and said he would drop me a text to let me know it's been collected. All ok i presumed..... Hmmmm no!! No text so i called him.. Yep you got it No answer. I checked courier No one home left a card. I have been calling this guy all eve yesterday and today also no answer. Maybe he got drunk again and has re-lost his phone or he is taking the urine. I'm now at a loss of what to do. I have his full address SW15 London & phone number so would have thought he would be as keen as me to resolve this. |

There are a few ways in which you give your bank account number, not only in a cheque as mentioned by Prog but through internet banking and BACS.
In the Clarkson case he was stupid enough to give it out to people at will; in this case I’m talking about a seller asking for cash. It’s the seller’s bank account number that you need and if he’s not trusting enough to give you that so you can pay the cash in direct then he’s probably not to be trusted enough to send cash through the post anyway!
Also, as an aside, in the Clarkson case his bank would have sent him a confirmation that the debit had been set up but he was probably too busy matching a 800cc Robin Reliant against a Harrier Jet for his latest video to read it! That is, of course, assuming that someone did actually set up the DD (it only says 'set up' not that it had been paid out on) and that it wasn't a PR stunt (yes, I'm a cynical person!!).
Eyesubmit; maybe there is someone on the forum who could pop round?
Good Luck.

Thing that surprises me most eyesubmit (other than the fact that you sent cash in the post, which you have already attempted to give yourself a good shoeing up the backside about, so I won't go in to that further) is that the scrote confirmed he had received your cash If he was intending to rip you off would he have not just denied receiving the cash and that would have been the end of it? Praps the boys in blue will make some progress, more likely a visit from a few Dolbearians may be required. Good luck.

You don't need a Signature for some Direct Debits. Clarkson was admitting Funds were removed and he was Back-peddling after taking the Michael out of some Gov Data Discs went AWOL and he had claimed someone can't do anything with those details.
I can see your point about THEM paying into your account. I personally would still not feel comfortable -thats me - and would refuse. |
